November 2, 2026 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM (PST)

Description

Join us for a robust discussion on the Middle East: the changing regional order; Israel and the Palestinians; Iran and its regional role; the prospects for diplomacy and normalization, and the human consequences of conflict.

Light lunch will be served.

Felice Friedson, President and CEO of The Media Line, has pioneered the independent non-profit American teaching news agency delivering accurate, fact-based reporting from Israel and the Middle East. A respected thought leader for three decades, she is a practicing journalist in TV, radio, and print, while leading a team on the ground in the region. Friedson created the Mideast Press Club and has served as an interlocutor for press access between Israeli and Palestinian governments. Founder of TML’s Press and Policy Student Program, championing journalistic integrity, she trains the next generation of leaders in independent journalism on the global stage. More than 20 universities have signed MOU's for credit.

FELICE FRIEDSON

Felice Friedson, President and CEO of The Media Line (TML), embodies the creative vision, courage, and persistence that has marked her three decades of bringing accurate, trustworthy and fact-based news to global audiences from the Middle East. A seasoned television, print, and radio journalist, Friedson’s career covering the world’s most fascinating region is driven by a spirit of innovation and a remarkable number of historic firsts.

After creating and producing a nationally syndicated radio program in the ‘90s, Friedson launched The Media Line, as an American news agency specializing in coverage of the Middle East. In a short time, TML became one of the most prolific providers of Mideast-based news content in the entire region.

In 2005, Friedson addressed her concern that the region’s journalists were failing to communicate with one another by creating the Mideast Press Club – bringing more than 200 Israeli and Palestinian journalists together professionally. Friedson’s trip to Yemen before the revolution provided access to what she describes as “the amazing women in media” who were catalysts for change from Sana’a to Amman to Ramallah and Jerusalem

Recognizing a void in mentoring the next generation of journalists, Friedson launched the Press and Policy Student Program at the Overseas Press Club. It has forged partnerships with dozens of universities globally, whereby students receive credit for on-the-ground skills training sessions at TML’s offices in Jerusalem. The program puts a strong emphasis on building women leaders and giving them the tools to succeed.

In 2014, as a testament to her reputation and standing among leaders on all sides of the conflict, Friedson served as an interlocutor between Israeli and Palestinian officials, overseeing intricate negotiations regarding freedom of access for journalists.

Friedson has spent more than twenty years on both sides of the camera and microphone as the creative force overseeing the production of news, features, and special programming and directing the agency’s distribution and marketing. She has co-produced documentaries and produced the syndicated TV program, Facing the Middle East. She has interviewed world leaders, powerful women trailblazers, iconic business chiefs, and notable chefs!

She was honored to be named a delegate to the 2009 Global Creative Leadership Conference in New York. She has been twice nominated for the Charles Bronfman Prize – jointly by Israeli and Palestinian journalists and is a 2010 recipient of the Global Citizen Award from Orphans International. A sought-after speaker, Friedson was a presenter at the 2019 Women’s Business Association of Harvard Business School’s Dynamic Women in Business Conference. In 2022, she was named Chair and Keynote for the Middle East Women’s Leaders Summit in Dubai.

In an industry dominated by large corporations, Friedson stands out as an independent entrepreneur and thought leader, dedicated to principled and accurate journalism. Along with her professional achievements, Friedson is also a proud wife, mother and grandmother.
