On May 7, the Los Angeles World Affairs Council partnered with Hollywood American Legion Post 43 for an exclusive lunch event at the iconic, Egyptian Revival-style Post 43 featuring Admiral (Ret.) James Stavridis, former Supreme Allied Commander of NATO and Commander of U.S. Southern Command. A distinguished four-star admiral with over three decades of service in the U.S. Navy, Admiral Stavridis shared his insights on the challenges and opportunities facing the new U.S. administration, the wars in Ukraine and Gaza, and the shifting dynamics with China. The conversation was moderated by the Honorable Jane Harman, former Congresswoman of California’s 36th district. The event was a tremendous success, bringing together 200 attendees from across Los Angeles. Guests also received a signed copy of Admiral Stavridis’s latest novel, The Restless Wave.
