At a time of historic polarization in Washington and beyond, this timely discussion brings together leading voices from both sides of the aisle to examine whether bipartisanship is truly a relic of the past or if common ground can still be found on the most pressing issues of our day. 

This program will feature experienced policymakers who have witnessed first-hand the challenges and opportunities of governing across party lines, including former Congresswoman Jane Harman (D-CA), former Congressman David Dreier (R-CA). Moderating the conversation is Jim Newton, veteran journalist, author, and teacher.

The event will take place on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM, in partnership with the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs, with the UCLA Burkle Center for International Relations serving as a promotional partner.
