Ken Lipper was an investment banking partner of Lehman Brothers and Salomon Brothers, before founding Lipper & Co., a multibillion dollar investment management and corporate finance firm. He served as Deputy Mayor to Mayor Ed Koch, and subsequently as Commissioner and Chairman of the Ethics and Governance Committee at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. He was co publisher of Lipper Viking Penguin, which published the Penguin Lives series of 24 biographies by celebrated authors.
Mr. Lipper served on corporate and non-profit boards of directors, including:
Neutrogena Corporation; CNH Industrial; Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts;
Rockefeller Brothers Fund; Sundance Institute. He was adjunct professor at Columbia University School of International Affairs.
In film, Ken wrote and produced City Hall starring Al Pacino; produced The Winter Guest starring Emma Thompson; produced, with Steven Spielberg, the Holocaust documentary The Last Days, for which Ken received an Academy Award. He wrote the novels City Hall and Wall Street, and was Chief Technical Adviser to Oliver Stone on the latter film.
